Cathy Ellen Westphal

Cathy Ellen (Stybe) Westphal, 60, died peacefully at home on November 20, 2020 after a long courageous battle with early-onset Alzheimer's Disease. Cathy was born on May 31, 1960 in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The daughter of Eugene Stybe and Valerie (Bradford) Stybe. Cathy worked as a crossing guard at Potter Road School in Framingham for many years and her love of helping others shone through in every aspect of her life. Cathy was passionate about volunteer work and spent many years working with the elderly. Cathy also loved art in all forms and many friends and family benefitted from personalized murals and artwork in their homes. Cathy spent the last several years of her life caring for her granddaughters who were the light of her life.Cathy married her high school sweetheart, Bill Westphal, on March 24, 1979 and enjoyed forty-two years of marriage. Cathy and Bill relocated from Massachusetts to Canterbury, New Hampshire after lovingly building their dream home by hand for several years. Cathy enjoyed restoring and breathing new life into old homes while maintaining their history. When it was time to take a break from the work a long car ride to see new sights or trip to Disney were top on her list. Nothing made her happier than seeing Tinkerbell fly over Cinderella's castle while her granddaughters watched in amazement. Cathy is predeceased by her father, Eugene Stybe, and her brother, Charles (Randy) Stybe. Cathy is survived by her husband, Bill of Loudon, NH; daughter Nicole Porro, her husband Bryan and their daughters Maisen and Ellie of Concord, NH; daughter Kelly Murray, her husband Jonathan and her new grandson Hudson of Deerfield, NH; her sister Valerie (Stybe) Jacinto, her husband Danny, and their children Liam and Olivia of North Dartmouth, MA; her nephews Sean and Scott Stybe of Utah; and her mother Valerie Stybe of North Dartmouth, MA. No formal services will be held at this time.
