CHARLES KENNETH BESAW SR.
FRANCONIA, NH – Charles Kenneth Besaw, Sr. 101, passed away on April 27, 2019 at the Grafton County Nursing Home.
Charles was born on August 23, 1917 in Sherbrooke Quebec, the son of Clement and Dora (Mitchell) Besaw and was a graduate of Lisbon High School and the University of New Hampshire. He served in the Army of the United States in World War II and was discharged a First Lieutenant, AGD, in the Reserves.
Before retiring in 1985, Mr. Besaw was the owner of the Woolson & Clough Insurance Agency in Lisbon. He was an incorporator of the former Savers Bank (Littleton), a former trustee of the Littleton Hospital, and a former trustee of the North Country Community Health Services.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rita. His family includes a son, Charles, Jr. of Piney Creek, NC, a daughter, Mary B. Wozniak of Greenfield Center, NY, two granddaughters and two great granddaughters.
