Charles N Blake, Jr. born May 30, 1933, passed away unexpectedly on November 9, 2020. He was 87.
Charlie grew up in Belmont, MA. He served in the Army as a communications officer during the Korean War, where he traveled and spent time in Japan. He graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. He was employed as an accountant for Western Union, AVCO and retired from his most recent position at Raytheon Corporation.
He resided in Rahway, NJ, Bedford, MA for 34 years, and most recently, East Falmouth, MA for 26 years.
Charlie was predeceased by his wife Prudence Blake (Stearns) of Arlington, MA, his mother Adelaide Clark of Marshfield, MA, his father Charles N Blake, Sr. of Belmont, MA and his stepsons Albert Sweeney, III of Brookline, NH and Harry ("Skip") Sweeney of Westchester, NY.
Charlie is survived by his wife Diane Blake (Stuart) of Bedford, MA and East Falmouth, MA. He is also survived by his five children and their families: Nancy, Eric, Gregory, and Christopher Sopper of Jaffrey, NH, Matthew and Joy Stuart of Marlborough, MA, Robin, Stephen, Lindsey and Nicole Steele of Bedford, MA, Adam, Mary, and Shane Stuart of Reading, MA and Janet and Gary Ritchie of Nashua, NH.
He is also survived by his sister-in-law Cheryl St Martin and predeceased by his brother-in-law Gary St Martin, both of Westford.
Charlie always had a love of animals and had many pets throughout his life. He leaves behind his beloved dog Molly.
Charlie was always known as a kind and true gentleman. He was loved by his family and will be deeply missed.
Services will be held at a later date when we can safely gather.
