Charles H. Hardy, 71, of Hudson died September 19, 2006 at Fairview Nursing Home following a brief illness.

Mr. Hardy was born on October 5, 1934 in Nashua, the son of Robert and Bertha (Moore) Hardy.

He graduated from Alvirne High School in 1952. He lived and worked at Elmhaven Dairy Farm in Dunstable, MA shortly after his marriage to Margery (Bailey) Hardy in 1954. He later worked at Lowell Dairy in Lowell, MA as a foreman for about twenty-five years. Mr. Hardy retired from Chomerics Laminates in Hudson where he worked as a machine operator.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking and camping with his family. He was a mountain climber and camper who conquered many of the New Hampshire 4000 plus foot mountains including Mt. Washington several times.

Mr. Hardy was a loving father and was a communicant of the Community Church in Hudson where he taught Sunday school as a young man. He later became active once again in the church after his retirement.

Family members include; two sons, Michael A. Hardy and his wife, Carol and Eric C. Hardy, all of Hudson; his former wife, Margery (Bailey) Hardy of Hudson; two granddaughters, Heather and Tara Hardy of Hudson; two brothers, John Hardy of Hudson and Richard Hardy of North Creek, NY; one sister, Helen Schaefer of Port Charlotte, Fla.; three sisters-in-law, Lorraine Hardy and Fran Hardy, both of Hudson and Ruth Hardy of Nashua; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a Memorial Reception on Friday, September 29th from 6:00 until 7:00pm with a Memorial Service at 7:000 PM at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in his memory to the Appalachian Mountain Club, c/o Mitch Manseau, AMC NH Chapter Treasurer, 290 NH Route 175, Campton, NH 03223.
