Probably because he loved his family dearly and enjoyed nothing more than simply being with his family, Charles moved from his hometown in Massachusetts to be with his daughter and her family, who had moved to Lebanon the year before, in 1989. Charles spent the rest of his life in Lebanon, living with his wife, his daughter, and her family. On August 27, 2000, Charles celebrated his eightieth birthday with a party in Lebanon.
