Ms. Charlotte Ann Daniel (O'Shea), 61, once a United States Navy Sailor, always a lover of music, and someone who could make friends anywhere she was, even up until the end. Charlotte died peacefully on August 10, 2016 at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH.
From a young age, Charlotte was an adventurous soul. Born on September 23, 1954 to John O'Shea, a Manchester Police Officer, and Kathleen O'Shea, a young mother of 1 at the time. She had lived in New Hampshire most of her life. Although she left her home state for her journey in the Navy as well as to live near family in Florida in the 80's, she ended up back in the Granite State she loved so much by 1984, remaining there until her dying days.
As a carefree and exuberant spirit by nature, Charlotte attended Manchester Memorial High School Class of 1972, but dropped out at age 17 to have her first daughter Carianne, whose name was inspired after her favorite song by The Hollies. Of course in Charlotte's free spirit, she opted for a more unique alternative spelling than what was in the lyrics. Music was one of her great loves, something that provided her joy that was instilled in both of her daughters. Charlotte later completed her General Equivalency Diploma and then joined the United States Navy to both serve her country and to give her daughter the best life she could by having her be raised by her own parents, Carianne's grandparents.
In the Navy, Charlotte met fellow sailor and the love of her life Rusty. They later married and had one daughter, Amber. Soon their family was blended and even after their marriage ended after nearly 30 years, Rusty still calls both of Charlotte's daughters his own, and thus was with Charlotte, her family and more importantly her girls during her last days to offer support without question which made Charlotte smile and her signature blue eyes sparkle.
Fascinated by people and unpredictable human nature, Charlotte enjoyed simple pass times over the years such as talking on the phone with friends and was known for her love of people watching. In her better years, Charlotte had a passion for fashion and was always on the hunt for a good bargain. Her daughter, Carianne, carries on her love of fashion and style. Her daughter, Amber, most certainly attests her bargain antics and amazing love of a deal and thrift shopping finds to her mom. Charlotte was raised a Christian and found comfort in the works and unconditional love of Jesus.
Charlotte also suffered from addiction, a disease to which she struggled for many years. While she was unable to overcome that battle, she was a fierce and persistent fighter who lived every day of her life as fully as she could. She is survived by daughters, Carianne Hardin & son-in-law, James Hardin, IV, and Amber Davis & son-in-law, Timothy Davis, grandson Elliott Hardin, and another grandchild on the way, her mother Kathleen O'Shea, her sisters, Lora Karolian, Lisa LaCroix and Kelly O'Shea, along with countless other family members, aunts, nephews, and cousins, and her beloved cat Gabby, who will mourn her loss. She was predeceased by her father, John O'Shea and her sister, Sharon O'Shea.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Charlotte's memory and sent to Farnum Recovery Center, a Program of Easter Seals, 140 Queen City Ave, Manchester, NH 03103, or www.farnumcenter.org/donation providing invaluable programs to help others battling addiction.
