Cheryl Jean Barnes, age 66 of Pelham, NH died unexpectedly on Christmas morning, Dec. 25th, 2015
Cheryl was born on September 4th, 1949 in Fallon, Nevada. She was the 4th and youngest child of Clayton L. Davis and Phyllis Jean Winegar.
Ms. Barnes was a US Army Veteran stationed in Germany and served from February of 1977 until May of 1986 when she was honorably discharged due to injuries sustained during service. She is a member of the Women in Military Service for America Memorial Foundation. Cheryl was honored to serve her country in the Armed Forces.
She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Hesser College with a degree in Computer Programming.
Cheryl was a long time dedicated employee of the Internal Revenue Service. She worked for the agency for 28 years. She was a highly valued employee and worked in Criminal Investigations, Technology Operations and Investigative Services section as an IT Supervisor. She truly enjoyed her work and she leaves behind many co-workers who will miss her deeply.
Cheryl was very proud of her Native American Heritage and took great delight in collecting Native American artifacts and jewelry. She never missed attending the annual Pow -Wow held in NH or MA. She took great joy in them and could sometimes be found dancing while there.
She enjoyed curling up on the couch with a good book, watching movies, listening to music and spending time with her close friends.
Cheryl was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and she lived her life to bring Him glory. She was generous and always went out of her way to help others, never hesitating to share her faith. She finished the race and completed the tasks the Lord had given her. Acts: 20 -24.
She is survived by her eldest son, John P. Miller and youngest son, Elijah G. Miller, his wife Anna Miller and grandson Skylar O. Miller. All of whom reside in Oregon.
She also leaves behind many church family members from Gate City Church of Nashua, NH and Crossroads Church of Pelham, NH. They will miss her terribly but rejoice in knowing she is home with the Lord.
The burial will take place at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, Jan. 6th at 10:30 am.
