Cheryl D. Shaw, 68, of Raymond, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, surrounded by loved ones, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 24, 1955, in Danvers, Mass., she was the beloved daughter of the late Alfred E. and Beverly L. (Wentworth) Harris.
Cheryl's early years were spent in Hamilton, Mass., where she graduated from Hamilton-Wenham High School. With a passion for flowers, Cheryl dedicated many years to gardening and creating stunning arrangements that brought joy to those around her. Additionally, she expressed her deep love for dogs by providing her services as a dedicated dog walker for clients in the surrounding communities.
A proud resident of Raymond since 1984, Cheryl's greatest joy was found in her family. Over 48 years of marriage, she and her husband, Peter, raised two wonderful children. Cheryl, a mother of love, fondly known as a "second" mom to many, radiated kindness and joy to everyone she encountered.
Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, Peter Shaw of Raymond; her brother, Kevin Harris of Billerica, Mass.; her daughter, Jillian Carter, and son-in-law Ryan; her son, Justin Shaw, and daughter-in-law Elysha; her cherished grandsons, Evan and Mason Carter; granddaughter Lily Carter; and ten nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass to celebrate Cheryl's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Parish, 200 Pleasant St., Epping NH. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to LUNGstrong, an organization dedicated to lung cancer research. Contributions can be made at lungstrong.org/donate.
Cheryl will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the lasting impact she had on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
