Christopher M. Jacobsen, 41, of Concord passed away peacefully after a lifelong battle with the ravages of Crohn's Disease, which culminated with the most recent 5-year battle with cancer.
Born in 1979 to Michael and Joy Jacobsen, Chris had always managed to stay a local boy. Growing up in the Concord's South End, he never forgot the many fine memories of his childhood there. Despite living in other areas of Concord over the years, he would forever be fondest of the South End and its residents. Christopher was a graduate of Concord High School in 1998. Although school was never his favorite, he never gave up. He attempted to attend a NH Community College but was too ill to continue with his classes. He worked at several firms in the Concord area throughout his life. He possessed a rather unique ability to never forget those whom he came in contact with through the years. Oddly, those interactions meant the world to him and he would remind people, even in years later, of how he remembered them.
Chris was blessed with the birth of a daughter, Lily, in 2008. She would be the light that he needed to keep going on in life. He was focused to provide the best he could for her. She is his everything - then, and now.
With no favorable medical options left, Chris fought the demon of cancer until the very end. He would not have been able to keep going without the support of his companion of several years, Marlina Houle, who never left his side despite whatever adverse conditions were present.
Christopher is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Roland and Bette (Tomkinson) Fletcher of Concord; his paternal grandparents, Arnold (Jake) and Barbara (Saltmarsh) Jacobsen of Bow.
He is survived by his mother, Joy (Fletcher) Jacobsen of Arundel, ME; his father Michael Jacobsen and stepfather Robert Thompson of Oakland Park, FL. His sister, Lindsey (Jacobsen) Kuczynski of Arundel, ME; his daughter Lily and his loving companion Marlina Houle of Concord. He also leaves behind an aunt, Arolyn (Fletcher) Sargent and an uncle, William Fletcher of Concord, as well as numerous cousins.
Lily will continue to be loved and in accordance with his wishes, be brought up by her aunt Lindsey where she will reside in Maine. She will forever be reminded of how proud her Dad would have been of her in her future development; may his spirit live forever in her eyes and in her heart.
While the family is trying to cope with his loss, there will be no services at this time. A celebration of Chris' life will be held at a future date (Spring 2021), in Concord. Then, the people who he came into contact with and meant so much to him, can celebrate the life he had and to share the many memories of Chris.
