Christopher "Chris" Roy Major, 60, passed away on May 16, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Kristine Solberg, with whom he shared 23 beautiful years together and 19 years of marriage. Chris's memory and legacy of strength will live on through his loving wife, Kristine; his daughter, Crystal Danko; and his grandchildren, Jacob Danko and Nathalie Danko. Born in Northampton, MA, and raised in Concord, NH, he was the son of the late Robert Major and Mary Major.

Chris found a true sense of belonging and joy with the Solberg family, and he loved each and every one of them deeply. He cherished being part of such a large, close-knit group, embracing his late parents-in-law, Alvin and Helen Solberg, his siblings-in-law, and his many nieces and nephews. He shared an exceptionally close bond with his sister-in-law, Lisa Green, and niece, Katie Cove, who never failed to be the first to show up for him, whether to celebrate something good or work through something difficult. He is also survived by his son, Robert Major, and his brother, Michael Major.

Everyone who knew Chris knew he lived entirely on his own terms. He was outspoken, honest, and the most capable jack of all trades. There was simply nothing he couldn't fix. Much of his incredible foundation with mechanics and working with his hands came from his time serving in the U.S. Army, where he trained as a helicopter mechanic, as well as the invaluable skills he honed alongside his mentor, Larry Leppard. Chris later met his best friend and business partner, Joseph "Joe" Hingey, while clearing foreclosures. The two went on to start a handyman business, sharing a bond rooted in hard work and fierce loyalty. In recent years, Chris found a deep sense of belonging and community working at the Comfort Inn of Duprey Hospitality.

One of his proudest achievements was purchasing his home and property in Dunbarton, NH, which became his ultimate sanctuary. He spent hours transforming the running trails on the land into four-wheeler paths and caring for his beloved pets, especially his cats, Logan and Gracie, and his cherished dog, Dakota. His favorite place in the world was the screened porch, where he and Kristine spent quiet, happy moments watching the woods for critters.

Their life together was filled with laughter, deep connection, and their fair share of challenges. Whenever things got tough, Chris would play the song "Stuck Like Glue" and look at Kristine and say, "That's us. Meant to be together." And they were.

Honoring his authentic spirit, Chris did not wish to have public services. Instead, a private celebration of his life will be held for family and close friends at their residence on Saturday, May 30th, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to your local animal shelter to honor his deep love for pets.

Rest in peace, Chris. We are still stuck like glue.

Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of NH, Boscawen.
