Cindy Lou Jury (Oliveira), 66, died Thursday, January 28, 2021 at home in Salem, NH, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 16, 1954 in Bellefonte, PA, the daughter of Jim and Lorna Jury. Soon after, she moved to Manchester, NH, where she grew up before moving to Cambridge, MA to pursue an education in teaching. While living and working in Cambridge, she met her husband, Gil Oliveira. They both worked at the restaurant inside the historic Parker House in Boston. He was the head chef and she was the hostess. They spent 40 wonderful years together. Cindy was a passionate educator for 45 years. She lived to help others, and, since 1994, she has been a devoted advocate for families with young children in the greater Salem, NH area as the executive director of her nonprofit, Salem Family Resources, and director of The Learning Center. She served on the Board of Trustees of the Kelley Library in Salem, NH.
Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband, Gil; her children, Molly and Sarah; her grandson, Lucas; her brother, Stephen; and her sister, Karen.
An outdoor memorial will be held on Saturday, February 6th at her home, 6 Meadow Lane, in Salem, NH from 1pm - 4pm.
