Claire M. Rogers, 77, of 84 Varney Street in Manchester died July 18, 2003 at Elliot Hospital. Mrs. Rogers was born on January 26, 1926 in Manchester, the daughter of the late Henry and Helene (Daneault) Plourde. She was one of the founders of St. Lawrence Church in Goffstown where she was a CCD teacher and member of the Women's Guild. She was a member of AARP and the National Association for the Elderly. Mrs. Rogers was a parishoner of Sacred Heart Church. She worked as a foster grandparent at Easter Seals. Family members include: her husband of over 56 years, Frederick E. Rogers; one son, Richard H. and his wife, Sandra (Suosso) Rogers of Manchester; three grandchildren, Karl Rogers, Emily Rogers and Greg Rogers; three sisters, Jeanne Pare of Goffstown, Germaine Gilbert of Manchester and Lorraine Skeffington of Manchester; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rogers was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph Plourde, Bruno Plourde and Robert Plourde and by three sisters, Simonne Plourde and Laurette Glaude and Therese Wheeler. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 21 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church on 265 Main Street in Manchester. Burial will be at a later date at the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the American Heart Association, 20 Merrimack Street, Manchester, NH 03101.
