Clare Kenyon Flynn, 93 of Manchester, NH passed away on December 25, 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Born in Youngstown, Ohio on January 14, 1927, Mrs Flynn was the daughter of Alfred C. and Dorothy Pitts Kenyon. She graduated from Boardman High School in 1944 and from Stephens College in Co-lumbia, Mo. in 1946.
She was employed as a Station Agent for United Air Lines in Youngstown until her marriage to Thomas Flynn of Fall River MA in June 1949. They moved to Manchester in 1950 where Mrs. Flynn completed her education with a BA degree in elementary education from UNH in 1967 and a MA degree from Notre Dame College. She taught kindergarten at Hallsville and Smyth Rd. schools from 1967 until her retirement in 1996.
Mrs. Flynn traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Russia and Africa. She also belonged to the Concord Hiking Group and the Concord Canoe Club. In her retirement she became a Certified Master Gardener, volunteered at the Massabesic Audubon Center and served two years as secretary as a member of the Salvation Army Auxillary. She also volunteered at the Manchester Airport information booth and donated her time to Meals on Wheels.
Mrs Flynn loved spending time in her garden and at Newfound Lake. Through the years she enjoyed the company of her dogs, William, Bear, Diamond and Maggie.
Mrs. Flynn is survived by her three children. Thomas Flynn and his wife Regina of Strafford, NH, John Flynn of Swanzey, NH and Janice Bouchard and her husband David of New Boston, NH. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
