Claribel (Nichols) Brockstedt, 95, of Salisbury, NH died January 7, 2008 at Genesis Mountain Ridge Nursing Home in Franklin. Claribel was born May 12, 1912 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late Charles and Sophia (Denny) Nichols. She was a resident of Salisbury, NH for most of her life. Claribel was employed by the state of New Hampshire, working for the Department of Transportation in the computer section. She was an active member of the Bartlett Grange for over 50 years and a member of the Salisbury Congregational Community Church and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed playing the organ and piano, sewing, knitting, reading, and doing the daily crossword puzzle. She had been member of the senior bowling league at Boutwell’s Bowling Center in Concord, NH. She is survived by: son Donald Brockstedt of Salisbury; daughter Nancy Rodgers of Salisbury; five granddaughters Kelly Rodgers Loan of Boscawen; Kathleen Shattuck of Concord; Anne Race of Cottonwood, AZ; Donna Shotwell of Aurora, CO; Michelle Stonelake of Arkansas; three grandsons Jeffrey Brockstedt of Manchester; David Fussel of Phoenix City, AL; Donald Brockstedt, Jr. of St Petersburg, FL; 23 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; a niece Judith Costanzo of Farmington, NH; three nephews Jack Nichols of Loudon, NH; David Nichols of Alexandria, NH and Steven Nichols of Jacksonville, FL She is predeceased by: her husband Charles Brockstedt in 1964; her brother John Nichols in 1998; her son Kenneth Brockstedt in 2001; a granddaughter Roberta Brockstedt Floyd in 2006. A memorial service will be held Saturday January 19, 2008, 1P.M. at the Salisbury Congregational Community Church In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Franklin VNA at 75 Chestnut Street Franklin, NH 03235 or the Salisbury Congregational Community Church at P.O.
