Clayton J. Schenk, Jr. Joe, 88, of Laconia died October 31, 2005 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center following a brief illness. Joe was born on July 14, 1917 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI the son of Clayton and Jane (Cullis) Schenk. He attended Philadelphia School of Textiles in Pennsylvania and retired from L.W. Packard Company in Ashland, NH. He was a World War II Army Veteran. Joe was predeceased by his devoted wife, Wilma (Stevens) Schenk of 60 years in 2003 and by a sister, Betty Schenk Davis. He was an avid golfer throughout his life and had two club championships to his credit. Also a skier, Joe did not start skiing until the age of 55 and continued his love of skiing through age 83. He tracked his days on the hill and it was not unusual for Joe to ski 50 plus days a winter. Family members include; three daughters, Nancy Pyskaty and her husband, Al of Carol Stream IL, Joanne Antkowiak and her husband, Marc of Annapolis, MD and Betty Gill and her husband, Ed of S. Burlington, VT; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; four nieces and two nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 4th at 11:00 AM at the Congregate Center at Taylor Community, 21 Ledges Drive in Laconia.
