Clifford Newbury Loomis, 91, recently of Alton Bay, NH and longtime resident of Meredith, NH died peacefully at his son's home in Lexington, MA, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 12, 1917 in Watertown, CT, a son of William Philo Loomis and Alice Newbury Loomis. Mr. Loomis began his career building custom boats and then building custom homes including his own residences. He was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn Ranslow Loomis (1999) and a son, Clifford Newbury Loomis, II. He is survived by a son, Kent R. Loomis, and his wife, Elaine of Lexington, MA; a daughter, Lynn Lee Edwards, and her husband, Michael of Sharpsburg, GA; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; a brother, George F. Loomis of St. Petersburg, FL, and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday at the home of his granddaughter in Holden, MA.
