Clyde H. LaPlant, 92, formerly of North Main St., Antrim, died Tuesday January 22, 2002 at Harborside, PheasantWood Nursing home in Peterborough. He was born February 22, 1909, in Bakersfield, VT, the son of Felix and Alma LaPlant and married Harriet Dunbar of Hancock November 8, 1958. She died in December 1999. He resided in Jaffrey until 1979, Hancock until 1983 and Antrim until he became a resident of Harborside PheasantWood in December 2001. Clyde served in the U.S. Army 2nd Battalion, 197th CA from January 1942 until June 1945. He worked for WW Cross/Emhart in Jaffrey from June 1941 until he retired in January 1973. He also worked for Robidoux Movers in Jaffrey for many years. He was a member of the American Legion for 57 years and the Masonic Charity Lodge No. 18 in Jaffrey for 63 years. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Luella Dunbar of Hancock; twin nieces, Luana Baldwin of Jaffrey and Linda Kritemeyer of Nebo, NC; and 2 grandnieces, Lisa Borges of Sharon, and Terri Fisher of Christiansburg, VA. At the deceased request, there will be no calling hours and no services.
