Colleen S. Foster

Colleen S. (Sweeney) Foster, 47, of Bedford, died peacefully on March 3, 2010 at the Elliot Hospital with her loving husband by her side. She was born in Manchester on April 24, 1962, the daughter of Richard and Judith (Riley) Sweeney and had been a Bedford resident for the past twenty years. She attended Manchester Catholic schools and was a 1980 graduate of Trinity High School, where she lettered in basketball, cross country, track and softball. She attended the University of Notre Dame where and earned a BA degree in Government in 1984. During her career as a paralegal she had been employed by McLane, Graf, Raulerson and Middleton Law Firm in Manchester. Prior to that, she worked for Sulloway and Hollis Law Firm in Concord. She loved animals and enjoyed running and traveling. While in college, she traveled extensively throughout Europe. In Her Life: Family members include her husband of 21 years, Stephen Foster; her three children who were special to her; two sons, Patrick Foster and Conor Foster, both of Bedford, a daughter, Megan Foster of Bedford; her parents of Manchester; one brother, Kevin Sweeney of Brookline, MA; one uncle, one aunt and cousins. Colleen dedicated her life to her children by advocating a strong educational background, a belief in faith and participation in sports. Colleen supported her family by allowing them to grow as individuals and experience everything that life has to offer, without restrictions. Colleen thoroughly enjoyed her gardens and many family pets. Colleen will be remembered by her family and friends through the warm nature of her soul that touched everyone she met throughout her life. A memorial gathering will take place on Thursday at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Bedford, from 11:00 to 11:30 with a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to either the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire, 545 Route 101 Bedford, NH 03110 or Boston Children's Hospital, 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, Massachusetts 02115.
