Conrad Giles Holden, 91, died April 6, 2026, at his home in Bow, New Hampshire. He was born on June 8, 1934, in Clinton, Massachusetts, the second son of Russell C. Holden and Helaine (Matthews) Holden.

Conrad Served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959.

He was the husband of Martha A. Holden with whom he had just celebrated their 42nd year wedding anniversary. During those many years, they explored the U. S. and took adventurous trips to Africa, Costa Rica and Peru.

Conrad was very fond of the time he spent in the seventies working as a heavy equipment service technician on the Alaska Pipeline. He loved the adventure of driving there and back in his pickup truck. He shared many a story of the experiences he had in Alaska. Some of them were actually true!

Conrad’s passion was designing and building quality homes, including the one he and Martha have lived in since 1985. This home includes a barn he built in 1990 with his sons and other friends with construction aptitude. He built over 20 homes in New Hampshire and Massachusetts and had a reputation for working closely with the owners to provide what they wanted and he included many unique, special details.

Conrad was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting in northern New England and more recently fly fishing in local rivers. When his children were young, he spent many weekends camping with them in New Hampshire and Maine.

He spent many years exploring New Hampshire trails in winter by snowmobile. Other outdoor favorite activities, usually with Martha, included motorcycle touring, alpine skiing and canoeing/kayaking. Conrad loved a good summer cook-out especially if it included lobsters and steamers.

He was predeceased by his two brothers, Paul Holden (1932-2019) and Robert Holden (1936-1989)

He is survived by his wife, Martha and two sons, Russell and Thomas, his two stepdaughters, Lisa Atwell and Laurie Sivonen, four grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life is being planned for a future date.
