Cornelia Wayne Brous, of East Swanzey NH, also known to friends and family as Neil, Neillie and Corkey, died at age 58 on June 12, 2004 . Neil was born on May 1, 1946 in Manchester, NH, daughter of Donald W. Brous and Cornelia Verhey Brous. Her siblings include sisters, Donn Joann Brous and Patty Brous Ward and brother, Hubert Wesley Brous. They knew her as a quiet, gentle, and kind spirit. Neil¹s educational background included a B.A. in Fine Arts and Art History from U.N.H, a M.Ed. in Counselor Education from the U. of South Carolina, a M.Ed. from the College of Education, Keene State College with a focus in Spiritual Health/The Mind-Body Relationship, and a Ph.D. in Psychological Foundations from the U.of S.C. Her professional work was teaching, research, writing and editing. Since 1999 she taught in the Department of Psychology at White Pines College, Chester, NH. Other NH teaching positions included Keene State College, Franklin Pierce College, and Saint Anselm College. She also instructed in Munich, Germany for the University of Maryland and for the Boston University Overseas Graduate Program. Since 1998, Neil worked part time as a Student Ambassador for Sodexho-Marriott Services at Keene State College, Keene, NH. Her volunteer experiences included working at Cheshire Medical Center, Catholic Medical Center, and Keene State College. The primary focus of Neil¹s research for over two decades has been sports participation and spatial visualization. In high school years, she participated actively in basketball, skiing and tennis. She spent much of the past 15 years as the primary caretaker for her parents. Recent interests include long-distance walking, Power Point and Web Page design, and e-mail correspondence. She was devoted to her nieces and nephews and her terrier, Precious. A private gathering will be held in her honor. Wishes to the family can be sent c/o of Donn J.
