Craig R. Davenport

On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, Craig R. Davenport parted from us to welcome his next adventure. Resting in the sunshine with a warm breeze surrounding him and the birds singing in the trees, he peacefully passed away. Although he was fortunate to have final moments with his family and many of his friends, he wanted everyone to hear this: "I want my family and friends to know how much I love them and am grateful for their care and concern and all the times that we've spent together."

Craig: The Man, The Myth, The Legend. He was larger than life. He laughed wholeheartedly, taught his kids to play ball and fish, was a continual supporter of his community, had a sentimental heart, an epic sense of humor and made sure that lobster was on the menu. Craig was a well accomplished avionics technician, owner, and sole proprietor of Craig Avionics for close to forty years, an avid baseball and hockey fan, and loved his family deeply. He traveled to any destination where he could relax in the pleasure of sun, sand, and ocean waves. His presence was felt the moment he entered the room. If he knew you needed him, he was there for you. He soaked up life like he soaked up the sun. His generosity was unparalleled.

Craig was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Helen (Churchill) Davenport; his brother, Phillip Clyde Davenport; and his son, Scott Davenport.

He is survived by his brother, Alan Davenport and his wife Beth. He is also survived by his four children: Cris Davenport-Decato and her husband Rodney; Richard Davenport and his wife Stephanie; Sherri Fish and her husband Rich; Tara Ego and her husband Brian. Also, included in his family, are his six grandchildren, Alex, Kolby and her husband Mike, Brenna, Kevin, Sara, and Eisla; his great granddaughter, Marley; and his nephews Will and Glenn.

At his request, a funeral will not be held, but to the many people Craig touched in his life, and to whom he gave love, joy, support, and friendship, the family wishes to extend their appreciation, and would love for you to join in a Celebration of Life. The details of this occasion will be forthcoming.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Red Sox Foundation or the Boston Bruins Foundation as both charities support youth sports, education, health and wellness.
