Cynthia Ann Royer

Cynthia Ann (Prystas) Royer, 83, died peacefully in her Manchester home on December 24, 2024 following a recent diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Cynthia, who preferred to be called Cindy, was born on October 21, 1941, in Manchester, New Hampshire as the daughter of the late Nicholas Prystas and Muriel (Blanchard) Prystas.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Joseph R. Royer, her sisters, Connie Prystas and Judi Betsko, as well as by her grandson, Patrick R. Deshaies and her nephew, David Betsko. Cindy is survived by her two brothers, Donald Prystas of Manchester, New Hampshire and Bill Prystas of San Diego, California as well as by her step-brother, Forrest Prystas of Manchester, New Hampshire.

Cindy blessed this earth by giving birth to her four surviving children: Scott Moore and his wife Maria of Saint Charles, Michigan; Donna Rogers and her husband Jimmy of Lake Wales, Florida; Brian Moore of Seffner, Florida and Connie Deshaies of Manchester, New Hampshire.

Cindy was also blessed with eight grandchildren: Thomas and Greg Moore of Massachusetts; Kristen Schipfer-Barrett, Bradley Moore, Brittany Moore, and Dylan Rogers of Florida; and Carissa and Adam Deshaies of New Hampshire.

Cindy was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Kylie, Isabella, Killian, Evie, Hylee, Ayla, and Amara.

She grew up mostly in the Manchester area and attended local Catholic schools for grades 1-8 then attended Central High School. She worked locally post-high school at local factories including the Anheuser Busch plant in Merrimack, and most recently worked at Market Basket post-retirement; Cindy also lived and worked in Florida for many years before returning to New Hampshire in 1995.

Cindy enjoyed staying active by doing yardwork, helping family members with “projects,” participating in a bowling league, going to bingo and to Foxwoods, and spending time with her friends, family, grandchildren, and her most beloved cat, Bumper.

Cindy was indeed blessed with a long healthy, prosperous life and will be greatly missed by everyone she leaves behind. She was feisty, funny, and very independent with her “can do anything” attitude as she had a heart for helping those less fortunate.

May she rest in peace until she receives the “glorified” body she yearned for upon the return of Jesus Christ, her Lord, and Savior.

A celebration of life for Cynthia, with close family and friends, will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Home located at 243 Hanover St, Manchester, NH 03104 on Saturday, January 4, 2025, beginning at 10:45AM.
