Cynthia (Cindi) Jean St John , 69 of New Boston passed away peacefully at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack. NH on December 2nd after a long fight with cancer.
Cindi is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 45 years George St John and their son Jeff St. John and his wife Lisa of Francestown NH, and Miss Daisy her black Labrador retriever and steadfast companion.
Born on June 18, 1955 she is also survived by her two brothers Bob and Ken Donaghy and their families as well as her four sisters, Linda Sorge, Kathy Hale, Pat Piper and Liz Montgomery and their families.
Cindi lived most of her youth in Brookline, NH making New Boston her home in 1979. Her love for art and drawing helped her in her fight with cancer until her hand movements could no longer be controlled. She loved trips to Disney World where she would go behind the scenes for drawing classes with the animators. As a nature lover she enjoyed kayaking and walking along the river..
She was a pack master of Cub Scout Pack 123 in New Boston for several years back in the 90's. Deeply involved with the community she was an active member of the New Boston fire department for over 20 years with her husband and son. When interviewed one time for a newspaper article she proudly responded that she was “ part of a true fire fighting family. The tones go off, we drop what ever we are doing and we all go.” She was also a member of the New Boston Fire Association for over 20 years and the Association clerk for 8 years.
She was active with the NH Smokey Wildfire Prevention Programs. She particularly enjoyed being. a member of the Smokey Bear Balloon ground crew for it's appearances in New Hampshire and Maine for the 70th and 75th birthday celebrations.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday January 26 from 2pm to 4 pm at Bob's Chocolate Cafe , 1 main street Francestown NH. and an internment in the New Boston cemetery will be Saturday June 21st at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the New Boston Fire Association.
