Dana Richard Casko, 71, of Deerfield, N.H., passed away on Oct. 1, 2021. He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred Casko and Madeleine Perard Casko, and his brother, Paul Casko. He is survived by his daughter Michaela Rose Casko, his brother David Casko and his wife Ramona, his daughter in law Cindi, and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He is also survived by his longtime companion Denice Anderson as well as her children and grandchildren.
He graduated from the Calhoon M.E.B.A. Engineering School in 1986 and traveled the world in the Merchant Marines. He lived and worked in Maine for a time before moving to New Hampshire. He had a successful career as a facility engineer and retired in 2017.
Dana was an avid British car enthusiast, belonged to the British Cars of New Hampshire club, and participated in many events with his “toys.” He enjoyed spending many hours working, tinkering, and perfecting all of the cars in his “Garage Mahal.”
He was a man of many talents with meticulous tendencies. He put those tendencies to use in the kitchen, where he loved to cook. He passed on his love of reading to his daughter, spending many hours reading together at bedtime and on weekly Barnes & Noble dates. He was always willing to help, teach, or demonstrate the proper way to fix anything. All of his “projects” were planned to the most finite level of detail to make sure everything was suited to his level of perfection as they grew and evolved in the process. He also loved to relax with a good IPA.
A memorial service for Dana will be held at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire at 243 Hanover St. in Manchester, New Hampshire on Thursday, Oct. 7 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
