Daniel C. Tafe

Daniel passed away on September 1, 2023 after an extended illness with pancreatic cancer.

He was born in Nashua, NH on August 26, 1950, the son of the late Eugene Tafe and Gilberte (Langlois) Tafe. He was predeceased by his brothers, Bradley Tafe and Philip Tafe.

Daniel graduated from Springfield College in 1973 with a Bachelors Degree in Education and later completed a Masters in Education from Antioch University.

He began his teaching career at Bishop Guertin in Nashua in 1973 and founded the Boys Wrestling program. After two years at Bishop Guertin, he taught in the Nashua School District for 36 years until his retirement in 2011. Dan coached cross country for a number of years at Nashua High.

As a youth, he was very active in former Scout Troop 255 in Nashua, where he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. Scouting provided many lifelong friendships and treasured memories.

After his retirement, he enjoyed a second career of sorts working for Enterprise/Alamo at the Manchester Airport. He formed some wonderful friendships and had a variety of experiences while there, which always made for good storytelling. During retirement he especially enjoyed skiing with his wife, Kathy, and good friends, Janet and Mark. Travel, cycling and model trains were other interests.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathryn (Nadeau) Tafe and three sons, Ian Thompson, Ryan Thompson and Jonathan Tafe, five grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
