Daniel W. Decoteau

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Daniel Wayne Decoteau, 39, of Milford, NH who was pronounced dead on Friday August 6th at Massachusetts General Hospital following a tragic accident that resulted in severe traumatic brain injury.

Dan was a proud Veteran of the Iraq War and made his mark on the poker world post military, most recently with the Boston Billiard Club and Casino. Danno’s proudest accomplishment was becoming Daddo to his daughters Sophia Michele Decoteau, 11, Leah Marie St John, 16, and sons Lucca John Decoteau, 8, and Joshua Michael St John, 21; he loved and adored his family. In addition to his children, Dan is survived by his parents, Kevin and Michele Decoteau of NH; sisters Nikki and Crystal Decoteau of NH; mother of his children, Tina Decoteau of NH; Grandmother Lois Button of CA; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; supportive friends from across the nation, who have been a part of his family; and work family who have been so supportive through this difficult time.

Dan will not be defined by the accident that took his life, but by how he lived. He was a lover of the outdoors and travel. His children knew no bounds to his love. It was not uncommon for Dan to sport painted nails from his daughter Sophia. His son Lucca loved to match Daddy’s clothes, especially his loud argyle socks. He loved watching Leah play softball and joking around with Josh. He enjoyed life and often traveled with his sister Nikki and attended concerts with his sister Crystal. He was a gracious friend always willing to help others; his last act of kindness was giving the gift of life through organ donation.

A celebration of life will be held for Dan at the Brookline Event Center at 32 Proctor Hill Rd, Brookline, NH 03033 on Sunday, August 15th at 1pm. We encourage all to wear skinny ties and funky colorful socks. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the GoFundMe page; funds raised will be used to set up a trust for his children. Link below:
