Daniel J. Margolien, 63, passed away July 4, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on February 12, 1958 in Los Angeles, California to the late David and Grace (Lieberman) Margolien.
Dan graduated from Lexington High School and received a Bachelor of Science from Southern New Hampshire University in Technical Management and International Business. A lengthy career with 3M Touch Systems in manufacturing and quality granted him the opportunity to travel the world and interact with incredible people with whom he otherwise would never have met. He took great pride in his work and was admired deeply by those who worked with him. He cared about manufacturing done right. After nearly seventeen years at 3M Touch Systems he rounded out his career at FLOWSERVE before taking a well-earned retirement.
Childhood passions remained with him throughout his life. From model airplanes to antique motorcycles, vintage American cars to fishing and camping. He was always glad to share his sharp wit and wealth of knowledge with others; ready to help anyone that crossed his path. Dan was an incredibly giving man who went out of his way to spread kindness and "pay it forward." Fully committed to the title "Grampy," he enjoyed taking the kids fishing, watching impromptu dance recitals, and always inspired their imaginations with games and quizzes.
Belonging to the Antique Motorcycle Club of America Yankee Chapter, Dan wrote insightful articles for the AMCA magazine, where he was also the Technical Editor, which he enjoyed immensely.
Dan will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 19 years, Carol (Dowd) Margolien of Salem, NH.
He will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his daughter, Caitlin Jackson and her husband, Adam of Clayton, NC; two stepdaughters, Tara Latulippe and her husband, Shawn of Atkinson, NH and Kelley Lebel and her fiance, James Paone of Hampstead, NH; six grandchildren, William Jackson, Aubrey and Julie Latulippe, Cameron and Rylee Devine, and James Daniel Paone; one sister, Roxanne Lindeman; and one brother, Brooks Margolien and his wife, Stephanie; and aunt Carol Hartman. He will also be forever remembered by several nieces and nephews.
