It is with heavy hearts that the family of Daniel P. Vinal Jr, 60, of Northfield, NH, announces his passing on June 23, 2026.

Dan was born on February 17, 1966, in Princeton, New Jersey, to Florence and Daniel P. Vinal Sr.

Dan will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality. Some may remember him for his lengthy wresting career. While wrestling, Dan went by the names “The Irish Farm Boy” and “Tubby Muffett” He was given those names by his IWF wrestling coach and dear friend, Walter “Killer” Kowalski. To those closest to Dan, he was simply known as “big D”. He was a kind, loving, understanding, outspoken man who would take time to listen to anyone who simply needed someone to listen.

Dan was also very connected to his community. He participated in many fundraisers and community organizations including the Lions Club of Franklin, The Sutton Volunteer Fire Department, and served as a founding member of the Winnisquam School District chapter of Every Child Is Ours, a weekend and vacation food program that serves the underprivileged students of the WSD. Dan spent a great deal of time developing ways to give back and pay it forward in the best ways possible.

While Dan was a jack of all trades, his favorites always revolved around preparing food for others. Dan had a profound love for food that began as a child. He often spoke of his father telling him “Danny, you don’t eat to live, you live to eat.” Dan took those words seriously and turned them into his passion. His careers included owning Big D’s Family Pizza as a high school student and young adult, he also saw his lifelong dream of having a food cart come to fruition in WTF (Where’s the Food). Dan could be found in downtown Tilton serving up affordable lunches including hot dogs, burgers, chips and more. Later he added kettle corn, snow cones and cotton candy and took his cart and equipment to many fundraising events giving back percentages of his earnings to the benefit. Dan also spent several years as a beloved school bus driver. He especially enjoyed taking students to NYC for field trips. Dan owned an auto detailing shop with his friend Chris. Dan was also an accomplished car salesman earning top sales positions at every dealership he worked at. He served as a bodyguard for many local and national celebrities, Dan was also a DJ for Oldies 99 where he was known as “The Mayor of Midnight” where he earned top Neilson ratings for the “Overnight Express”.

Dan was pre-deceased by both his parents, Daniel P. Vinal Sr and Florence L. Vinal (Capaldo). His sisters Florence, Lois and Robin, and his grandparents. Dan was also predeceased by several grandchildren that were lost to miscarriage.

Dan was a father to three children whom he loved dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Shawn M. Davis of North Sutton, Jaxx E. Smith of Enfield and Kaleigh R. Vinal of Claremont.

He is also survived by his brothers, Philip Grant of Concord and William Vinal of Concord. Aunt and Uncle Tincy and Charlie Dorval of Northfield, and Uncle and Aunt Joe and Lisa Capaldo of Caanan, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dan is also survived by many, many people he was proud to call friend.

Dan’s children are grateful for the assistance so many have offered to ensure his final wishes could be honored.
