Daryl Houle Daryl A "Skip" Houle, Sr., 58, died May 7, 2010 at the VA Medical Center in West Roxbury, MA. Born in Concord, NH on July 19, 1951 to the late George and Evelyn (LaClair) Houle. Skip was a Vietnam War veteran and served proudly with the United States Marine Corps. When he returned to civilian life he entered NH College and earned a BS in Accounting. Skip worked for the NH Banking Commission as a bank examiner, the Credit Union Association of NH and the Seacoast Federal Credit Union. Skip was co-founder of Pat's Apple Crisp, Inc which he actively operated for 26 years becoming an icon at the Hopkinton, Rochester and Deerfield Fairs. Mr. Houle was an active member of the Loyal Order of Moose, serving as administrator for several years. He was also a lifetime member of VFW Post 1631. Community service was Skip's passion and Pat's Apple Crisp was a major sponsor for the City of Concord Christmas Tree Lighting. He was also instrumental in starting the Boy Scouts in Strafford, NH as well as the Strafford Recreation Association. Skip was also a long time Babe Ruth baseball coach. Mr. Houle is survived by his son, Daryl of Strafford, his daughter and son-in-law Danielle and Dustin Calkins of Strafford, and his sister and brother-in-law Cheryl and Robert Correllus of Concord. His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday May 22nd, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Blossom Hill Cemetery, 207 N. State St, Concord with committal prayers to follow at the family lot at Calvary Cemetery, Concord. In Lieu of flowers the family would like to request memorial donations be sent in Skip's name to the Boys and Girls Club of Concord, 55 Bradley Street, Concord, NH 03301.
