David and Janice Moore

David Paul Moore, Jr. and Janice Gail Moore, married for 57 years, of Bedford, NH, entered eternal rest together on October 13, 2024.

David, 78, was born on October 17, 1945, in Fairmont, West Virginia, to the late David Paul Moore, Sr. and Doris Moore. Janice, 79, was born on May 4, 1945, in Boston, MA, to the late John Burfitt and Esther Burfitt.

The couple both graduated from Weymouth High School, Class of 1963. Janice later attended Burdette Junior College and worked at Totland College as a preschool teacher, as well as Liberty Mutual Insurance and Fidelity Investments as an Administrative Assistant. David attended Northeastern University and spent over 30 years working for Bell Atlantic, with assignments around the globe, including in the Philippines, Indonesia, Yugoslavia, and England.

Janice and David both cherished spending time with their grandchildren, especially Molly and Hannah, who lived nearby. Janice had a passion for cooking, decorating—often being called the “Martha Stewart” of the family—along with reading, golfing, and gardening, all of which brought her immense joy. David, an avid reader and passionate follower of politics and Boston sports, shared her love for golfing and took pride in being a skilled handyman, often working on projects around the house. He also found peace in his faith, spending quiet moments reading his Bible.

David and Janice are survived by their children David Moore and his wife Kelly of Whitman, Gregory Moore and his wife Tina of East Bridgewater, and Laurie Duffy of Bedford, NH. They leave behind cherished grandchildren, Dylan and Shaylin Moore, Harrison Moore, Brennan Moore, Meghan Moore, and Molly and Hannah Duffy. David and Janice are also survived by Janice’s sisters Pamela Cunningham (Gary) of Hull, and Susan Stack (Leo) of South Carolina, David’s brother Jim Moore (Linda) of Randolph, and his sister Judy Stockbridge (Bob) of Weymouth. The couple is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

No formal services will be held at this time. A private celebration of their lives will take place at a later date.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Joslin Diabetes Center or the American Heart Association. David's final wish was a reflection of his strong political beliefs and unwavering support for Donald Trump, with a heartfelt hope for his re-election in 2024.
