David P. Dean, 71, of 59 Estes Road in Rochester died on January 13, 2002 at his home after a lengthy illness. Mr. Dean was born on May 17, 1930 in Concord, NH the son of the late Truman F. and Harriet (Cilley) Dean. He was educated in the Center Strafford School and Austin Cate Academy. He was a U S Army Veteran who served during the Korean War. After serving his country he became an auto mechanic for Gerald E. Towle Oldsmobile then became a truck driver for Brackett and Shaw, Diamond International and lastly retiring from J. Russel Osborne. Dean loved his family and enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing and woodworking. Family members include; his wife of 51 years, Christina (Webster) Dean; two sons, David P. Dean and his wife Janet of Rochester, and Gary S. Dean of Berlin; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, James T. Dean of Rochester; a sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene (Betty) Randlett of Weare; and many nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 20th at 2:00 PM at the Third Baptist Church in Center Strafford where David was a member. Rev. James Bosworth will be officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Tamworth. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Seacoast Cancer Clinic in Dover, the Oncology Dept. at Frisbee Memorial Hospital in Rochester, the Rochester Rural VNA and Hospice or the charity of one's choice.
