Keene, NH, -- David Joseph Lorette, 53, died June 1st 2002 at the VA Hospital in White River Junction, Vermont after a long and courageous battle. He was born in Keene, NH on October 3, 1948. He was the beloved son of Katherine (Pierce) Lorette of Keene and the late Joseph F. Lorette. He also leaves a sister, Lorraine Gorton, and her husband Paul, of Burlington, VT; and a sister Joanne Lorette of Keene NH. He loved his family and was very close with his niece Cynthia Wright and her husband Bradley of Colchester VT; nephew John Pruss Jr. of Burlington, VT; nephew Joseph Pruss, and wife Teri, of Kalkaska MI. He also leaves his very dear great nieces and nephews, Christopher & Caitlyn Wright of Colchester VT; Victoria Pruss of Burlington VT; Kyle & Alexandria Pruss of Kalkaska MI. David also leaves an extended family of nieces and nephews, Randy Gorton and his children Melinda & Paul; Jeff Gorton; Kim Gorton and her daughter Samantha; bonus great nieces Danielle Wrisley; Alyssa Rushlow; Sonja Kelly; bonus nephew Tyler Booska. David leaves many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and stepfamily too numerous to list. His love for ''Family'' shines through with all the hours and research devoted to the extensive genealogy tree. He also loved working with flower gardening and gourmet cooking. David graduated from Brattleboro Union High School in 1966. David lived in Denver, Colorado for many years of his life and made numerous lifelong friends. While in Colorado, he was an activist in many charities and will always be remembered for his talent for fund raising and his great sense of humor. David was very blessed with wonderful caregivers like Marguerite Monet from Brattleboro VT; Susan Foster of Keene, NH; who he called his dynamic duo; also Aylene Schoefmann who helped him and his family through his final stages. He had wonderful care from the doctors and nurses at the VA Hospital. A special note of gratitude to Dr. Taylor who David had a great respect for and his compassion and thoughtfulness to David and his family. His warmth and loving ways will not go forgotten. He was a very loving and devoted son, brother, uncle and friend to all and will be missed greatly. At David's request there will be no funeral services. A very private graveside service will be held in Fitzwilliam, NH. Donations can be made in his name to the VA Hospital, WRJ, VT.
