David R. Martel, 63, of Manchester, passed away on December 27, 2022 in his home.
David was born on January 14, 1959 in Manchester and is the son of Claire (Fournier) Locke and the late Albert Martel.
David grew up in Manchester. During his youth, he was an avid body builder focusing on health and fitness. He enjoyed sharing these ideals with his family and friends. David spent many hours enjoying music and strumming his guitar. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh especially with his Popeye impressions.
After completing his education, he joined the armed forces proudly serving in the United States Army. Throughout his life, David remained an extremely patriotic man who loved his country. David’s concern for those in need showed in his generous donations through the years to a multitude of charitable organizations.
David, a loving son and brother, is survived by his mother, Claire, and his siblings: Theresa Lemay of Boscawen, Daniel Martel of Manchester, Maureen Desmarais of Arizona, Jacqueline Martel of Vermont, and Michele Cote of Manchester. He also leaves behind beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
David is predeceased by his father, Albert Martel and his brother Stephen Martel as well as his many aunts and uncles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 25th at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Manchester at 11:00 a.m. Interment and military honors will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Manchester. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend.
