David A. Richard

David A. Richard, 95, of Harvard, MA, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2022.  

David is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy Richard of 42 years. He was the adored father of Gail D. Richard and esteemed step-father of Deborah Berglund and David Berglund. A cat lover, he will be missed by his dear kitty, Kitrina.

David was born on February 23, 1927, son of the late A. Frederick and Helen (Chase) Richard. David was also predeceased by each of his three younger siblings; Anne Carret, Pierre Richard, and Constance Streeter as well as his ex-wife and long-time friend, Anne Richard.

David was a graduate of Bates College, a veteran of the US Navy, and was retired from a long career in computer programming. He always said when his time came, he’d be headed to the big tabulating room in the sky.

He was an avid reader and an aficionado of planes, trains, and automobiles. He was quick-witted, kind, and believed that “everything is beautiful, in its own way.” Anyone who had the pleasure of his understated company knew they would learn a bit and laugh a lot. And, he rarely turned down anything chocolate.
