David J. Wing, 68, of Salem, NH died Sunday October 8, 2006 at the VA Medical Center in Manchester. Born on September 9, 1938 in Belfast, ME the son of the late Albert O. and Catherine E. (McCarthy) Wing. He was a resident of Salem for the past 9 years, moving from Maine. Mr. Wing served in the US Army. He retired from the Army in 1985 after servicing for twenty years. After his military retirement, he worked in security in Lawrence, MA. He was a member of the NRA and a firearms enthusiast. He was a member of several hunting associations. He collected sports memorabilia. Mr. Wing enjoyed reading and watching TV. He is survived by his 4 sons, Michael Wing of Florida, John wing of CA, Peter Wing and his wife Bonnie of ME and James Wing and his wife Sarah of CA; 2 daughters, Cathy Wing of ME and Carole Wing of NH; 9 grandchildren, Jasmine Wing of NH, Joshua Wing of PA, Noah Wing of PA, Benjamin Wing of CA, Ethan Wing of CA, James Guide of NH, Vanessa Whitcomb of ME, Selina Whitcomb of ME and Levi Whitcomb of Me; brother, Russell Wing and his wife Sue of Waldo, ME; sister Elizabeth Bailey of Alabama and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial gathering will be held in his honor on Saturday from 2-4PM at the Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover St, Manchester. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is in charge of arrangements.
