Debra Lynn Callner (formerly Debra Lynn Thomas), 64, resident of Penacook NH, passed away at home on December 7, 2020.
Debra was born on May 17, 1956 in Bennington Vt. to Theodore and Norma Thomas. Debra attended elementary and secondary school in Bennington and graduated from Mount Anthony Union High School in 1974. She furthered her education by attending the University of Vermont where she graduated in 1978. She had a successful and fulfilling career as a Physical Therapist in Georgia and New Hampshire.
Debra was a loving mother to her two children, Brittany Wakefield and Samuel Callner, as well as a loving partner of 18 years to Ken Parnell.
Debra had a passion for nature and the outdoors. She was an avid hiker and cross-country skier. Additionally, Debra found great joy in golfing, playing the flute and creative writing. In Henniker NH, she was a member of the Henniker Congregational Church where she loved singing in the choir. Debra had a depth of spirituality and faith that allowed her to accept her multiple sclerosis illness with strength and courage. No matter what, she met every day with an outlook of optimism that was greatly inspirational to others. Debra had a unique sense of humor with a laugh that filled the room and the hearts of those around her.
Debra leaves her daughter Brittany Wakefield of Cartersville, GA; son Samuel Callner of Little Rock, AR; her partner Kenneth Parnell of Penacook, NH; Father Theodore H. Thomas Jr. of Bennington, VT; siblings Kathryn Thomas Lowe of Bridgehampton, NY, Patricia Thomas Weinstein of Mashpee, MA, Gary Holden Thomas of Bennington VT, Laurie Thomas Nelson of Presque Isle, ME and a large extended family. Debra is predeceased by her mother Norma F. Thomas and her brother in law Matthew Nelson.
Due to the current Corona Virus Pandemic a memorial service will be held at a later date, time and place to be announced. Memorial gifts may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in honor of Debra Lynn Callner.
