Debra Lynn Cunningham, age 50, of Manchester NH, died on September 19, 2017 at Massachusetts General Hospital with her husband Joe by her side after a year long battle with cancer.
She was born in Sheboygan, WI on November 19, 1966 to Marilyn and Roger Prescher and attended Sheboygan area grade and middle schools, graduating from South High school in 1984. She worked alongside her siblings Mickey and Scott at the Charcoal Inn, her family's popular restaurant. She went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in fine art from the University Of Green Bay, WI and an Associate's Degree in commercial art from Milwaukee Area Technical College.
Debra met her husband Joe at Barefoot Bay Resort in Elkhart Lake, WI in the summer of 1990. She relocated to Boston, MA in 1991, where she and Joe lived on Newbury street while he was attending Berklee College of Music. The young couple began building a life together, and were united in marriage on August 28, 1998.
Throughout her life professionally, Debbie was many things; an artist, entrepreneur, child care provider, teacher, and sales representative. She spent the last 12+ years of her career at Spectrum Marketing Companies in Manchester, N.H.
Privately, she loved interior design, and spent many happy years renovating, remodeling and decorating her homes with her husband Joe. She enjoyed attending flea markets and yard sales, and finding and making old things new again. She loved working with her hands. Her garage was a constant workspace for countless furniture rehabilitation projects. She loved a good backroad drive with Joe and Jasmine (her dog), coffee in hand. Kayaking was a passion she more recently discovered. She adored her family.
Debra will be remembered by all who knew her as a soft spoken, thoughtful and selfless woman who could lighten a melancholy mood with her sweet smile and pleasant demeanor. She was patient and kind. She was witty, loyal, loved to laugh, and had a great sense of humor. She loved her family. She always put the needs of others before her own, and was truly good. She led not by words, but by example, and leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and kindness for her family and friends to admire, cherish and aspire to.
