Debra A. Hickson

Debra A. Hickson, 49, of Westmoreland died with family by her side on June 11, 2007 at Youville Hospital and Rehabilitation in Cambridge, MA. Debra was born on April 5, 1958 in Needham, MA where she was raised. She was the daughter of Robert Staples and the late Shirley (McAdam) Staples. She enjoyed spending time in her backyard, feeding and watching the birds with her granddaughter, Abigail. Together they also shared an interest in painting and drawing. Her life was centered around her family. Debra had a talent for decorating birthday cakes for her family and also enjoyed baking for them as well. She maintained her sense of humor until the very end and believed in the motto, “everything happens for a reason.” She is survived by; two daughters, Melissa Napier and her husband, Rich of Duxbury, MA and Stacy Malmberg of Grafton, VT; her father, Robert Staples and his wife, Margaret of Westmoreland; two grandchildren, Abigail and Kenny; two brothers, Robert Staples of Allenstown and Richard Staples of Westmoreland; and one sister, Cindy Dolan of Keene. There will be a gathering at the town hall in Westmoreland on Friday, June 15th from 3:00 until 4:00 with a Celebration of Life Service at 4:00 followed by a reception ending at 7:00 PM.
