Diane Cate

Diane Francis (Blouin) Cate, age 67, passed away at home in Bow, NH on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born on December 19th, 1954 in Hinsdale, New Hampshire. She was the daughter of Henry Blouin and Helen (Sikoski) Blouin, and was the loving wife of 28 years to Bradley Cate, before his death in 2016.

She graduated from Hinsdale High School in 1972, and went on to attend Keene State College. She worked for over 20 years as a paraprofessional for the New Hampshire school district before retiring in 2016. Diane was an active member of The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Concord, and most recently worked as a volunteer in the first grade classrooms at Bow Elementary school.

Diane will be remembered for her passion for working with children, always dressing to impress, her fondness of basking in the sun on Ogunquit Beach, her delicious cooking, her off key but cheerful singing, and her enthusiasm to entertain and decorate for every holiday. Most importantly, however, she will be remembered for the genuine kindness and love she held in her heart for her family and friends. Diane was a beloved wife, mother, sister, friend, and Bopchie to her two grandchildren, Elaina and Parker; her pride and joy. Anyone who knew Diane, knew how much she loved her soulmate, Brad. It brings her family true comfort to know that she’s finally with him again, “Somewhere Out There”.

She is survived by her daughter, Alissa Fairfield, and son-in-law Matt Fairfield of Bow; her grandchildren Elaina and Parker Fairfield of Bow; her sister Donna (Blouin) Schaub of Connecticut; her brother Robert Blouin and his wife Cheryl of Texas; her nieces Lindsey Blouin, Lacy Gerardi, and Brittany Schaub of Connecticut; her nephew Zachary Blouin of Massachusetts; her great nieces and nephew Alina, Mia, and Jack, and many other family members.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 21st, at 1:30 in the afternoon at The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Concord, New Hampshire. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bow Elementary School Library at 22 Bow Center Rd, Bow, NH 03304, or the Barton Center for Diabetes Education https://www.classy.org/give/316263/#!/donation/checkout.
