Dolores Mary Jane Pelletier, 87, of Nashua, passed away at her home on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. Born in Salem, MA on February 1, 1930, she was daughter of the late Edmond and Lea (LaBell) Tremblay. She enjoyed 61 years of marriage with her late husband, Joseph Pelletier.
Dolores lived the first part of her life in Salem, MA, where she graduated from St. Joseph's Catholic High School in 1947. She studied nursing at the Essex Agricultural School, which led her to work as a LPN for the Visiting Nurses Association (now known as Home Health & Hospice Care). She was a dedicated nurse and started the Homemaker's Program during her time there.
Dolores always cared for others; she hosted foreign exchange students, helped troubled children and teens, and was a volunteer companion for disabled people. She led an active social life, enjoying time spent as a member of the Nashua Senior Citizen's Club, the Silver Linings Chorus, and Red Hat Association. While she lived a very full life, family was always the most important facet. Dolores cherished time spent with those she loved.
Survivors include her four children, Mark Pelletier and wife Denise of Georgetown, MA; Claude Pelletier and wife Darlene of Estero, FL; Guy Pelletier and wife Sylvia of Hillsboro, NH; and daughter Lise Pelletier of Nashua, NH; her brothers, Bert Tremblay of Braintree, MA and Roger Tremblay of Macom, GA; her sisters, Anita DeLorenzo of Danvers, MA and Trudy Nielson of Phoenix, AZ; her five grandchildren, Heather Mae, Chantalle, Cameron, Elan and Chandler Pelletier; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Armand Tremblay.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 28th at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH with a gathering to start at 1pm. Memorial service will follow.
