Dolores Perry

Dolores Rovira Perry, 86, of Nashua, NH, passed away at Lahey Hospital in Burlington, MA after a period of declining health on Thursday, May 9, 2024.

She was born in Corpus Christi, TX on February 7, 1938 to the late Raymond and Angelina Rovira and graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1957. "Once a Buc, always a Buc"

Dolores met Joseph Perry in San Antonio, TX where he was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base, and they married on June 30, 1958. During their nearly 66 year marriage, they moved several times throughout Texas and Massachusetts but eventually settled in Nashua, NH.

Early in her career, Dolores worked at both Greenbrier and Holiday Inn, which she was so sad to see torn down recently, in Nashua. She also worked at Southern NH Medical Center (formerly Memorial Hospital) for 25 years in the Radiology file room until her retirement in 2001.

Dolores loved music, playing both the piano and cello, but not at the same time. She also loved nature - flowers, birds and trees were all very special to her.  She was particularly happy to see her dogwood tree bloom in recent weeks.  She hated cooking, despite preparing many delicious meals for her family, mostly from recipes she learned from her mother. She was a proficient and enthusiastic crafter and was well known for her handmade dolls, beautiful personalized greeting cards and Christmas ornaments. But most of all, she loved getting together with family to celebrate special occasions and was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will remain forever in their hearts.

Dolores is survived by her husband, Joseph Perry, four daughters Susan Nutting and her husband Larry of Nashua, Denise Perry and her husband Rod Barnes of Nashua, Cynthia Perry of Nashua and her partner Don McLaughlin of Salem, Judi Lavallee and her husband Phil of Merrimack.

She is also survived by her sister Norma Perez and her husband Richard of Corpus Christi, TX, her brother Robert Rovira and his wife Mamie of Sandia, TX and two sisters in law Joyce Rovira of Beaumont, TX and Maria Rovira of San Antonio, TX.  Her seven grandchildren, Aissa Boduch (Steve), Dolores Nichols (Kevin), Jennifer Hirschmann (Kevin), Allison Nutting-Wong (Matt), Jake Nutting, Taylor Barnes, Morgan Barnes and her ten great grandchildren Jonah, Tadzui, Phillip, Kyle, Kailey, Evelyn, Noah, Maddox, Jason and Connor. As well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Dolores was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Joseph Rovira and Richard Rovira. Her grandson Matthew Simoneau, great grandson Asher Simoneau and son-in-law David Boulia.

Arrangements are being handled by the Cremation Society of New Hampshire. Services will be private.
