Donald F. Belanger, 84, of Tucker Mill Rd, New Boston passed away on Thanksgiving morning, November 28, 2019. He was one of 13 children born to George Baker-Belanger and Adeline (Roukey) Belanger on July 7, 1935.
He was a communications specialist in the US Air Force stationed in Alaska, prior to Alaska becoming a state. He shared many stories about life in Alaska, instilling the love of the state and his service in the military to all of us. One of his life long dreams was to return to Alaska.
He was an extremely proud hard workingman. Sharing many stories of when he started working with his brothers cutting wood as a young boy, to putting up power lines at the age of 14, and many years as a diesel mechanic servicing many people, companies and the town of New Boston Fire and Rescue before retiring in his late 70's.
He is predeceased by his parents, eight of his siblings and his son, Michael Donald Belanger in 1999.
He leaves behind 5 children, Darlene Clark of Littleton, NH, Stephen Belanger of NH, Tammy Dugrenier and her husband Gary of Goffstown, NH, Donna Daniels and her husband Steve of Weare, NH and Sandra Townes and Terry Gordon of New Boston. NH. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great- great grandchild as well as 4 sisters and 1 brother.
Graveside services will be held at the NH State Veteran's Cemetery located at 110 Daniel Webster Hwy in Boscawen on Thursday, December 5th at 12 pm with military honors.
