Donald R. Brochu

Donald Richard Brochu, 89, passed away on October 9, 2023 at home, after a period of declining health.  The son of the late Joseph P. and Marjorie (Bulmer) Brochu, Donald was raised in Concord and graduated from Concord High School class of 1952. 

He enlisted in the Air Force at age 18 and was stationed at Rhein Main Air Base, Germany, as a Control Tower Operator.  Upon discharge, he worked for the U. S. Postal Service out of the Concord office until his retirement. 

His favorite memories- which he enjoyed sharing- were of growing up in the "West End" and his many interactions with his family, cousins and friends. 

Donald is survived by his sister, JoAnne Agnes (Brochu) Grandmaison (Lucien) and many nieces and nephews.  He was pre-deceased by Infant siblings Gerard Arthur Brochu and Joyce Evelyn Brochu; Marie Evangeline (Vangie) Boissy (Alfred T. Boissy, Sr.); Paul Joseph Brochu; Edward Raymond Brochu (Jacqueline Eva Grandmaison); and David Noel Brochu (Margaret P.S. (Christmas). 

Though he lived alone, he was never lonely.  He kept himself busy maintaining his home with all that entails.  In his Golden years, he kept his mind sharp through his love of reading and enjoyed matching wits with any mental challenge presented- crossword puzzles, jumbles, and Sudoko. 

Honoring his wishes, there will be no calling hours.  Services will be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery Chapel, located at 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen N. H., on Tuesday, October 24, 11:00 am., followed by Air Force military honors.
