Donald J. Frechette, 82, passed away suddenly on May 9, 2020 at his home in Danville, NH. Donald is predeceased by his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Doris (Bergeron) Frechette, to whom he was married for 52 years.
Donald was born in Lawrence and moved to Methuen to raise his family. He worked for many years at Textron Co. in Wilmington, MA, from which he took an early retirement. He then worked at Hadco in North Andover, MA until he retired for good in 2009. He and Doris moved to Danville for their retirement years.
Donald spent many happy years as a Square Dance Caller and Teacher. He taught for clubs in Methuen and Haverhill. He, along with Doris, made many friends during their dancing years. Together they organized and ran square dance weekends each year at Lake Shore Farms. They also attended many square dance conventions in the New England area, where Donald would sing and call for hundreds of dancers.
Donald and Doris spent a great deal of time in their retirement years camping with their daughter Christine and her family, primarily at Mi-Te-Jo Campground in Milton, NH. His favorite campground activities were "camping with his eyes closed" and asking when it was time to eat.
Donald enjoyed gardening, cooking, finding recipes and playing games on his computer, playing cards and Bingo at the Senior Center, and taking bus trips with his friend and companion, Emma Rankin.
Donald leaves his four children, Stephen Frechette and his wife Angie, of Salisbury, MA; Karen Vennard and her husband Tag of Salem, NH; Christine Dube and her husband Lloyd of Danville, NH; and John Frechette and his wife Ruth of Methuen, MA.
