Donald “Don” Howard Parker, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by love and family on February 19th in Dover, NH. Born in Lancaster, NH, Don graduated from Lancaster Academy and joined the Air Force. He was stationed at Altus Air Force Base in Oklahoma working on B-52 bombers. When he returned to New England, he met and married Trudy Ann Call. They made their home in Lunenburg, VT for over 40 years, living in a log cabin that they built themselves. A beloved fixture in the town of Lunenburg, Don could often be found at the Town Hall with his fellow Listers (tax appraisers) fighting to keep property taxes affordable for the people of Lunenburg. A gifted painter, Don shared his love of the Northeast Kingdom in stunning original paintings of the wildlife that he spent his life surrounded by. Don overcame many challenges in his childhood, and used those experiences to improve the lives of those around him. He was beyond generous with his time and knowledge, becoming a mentor and positive role model in the lives of his many nieces and nephews. During many hard times throughout the years, he was a source of great strength and consistency.

Don is survived by his wife of almost 60 years Trudy Ann (Call) Parker, half-brothers George (Karen) and Johnny Parker, as well as John and Sandra Call. He has numerous nieces and nephews, many of whom considered him much more than just an uncle. He also has great nieces and nephews and even a few great great nieces. He is predeceased by his brother Bob Parker and by his beloved dog Casey.

Services will be held at Guildhall Cemetery in Guildhall VT in the spring
