Donald C. Hutchings

Donald Craig Hutchings, 61, of New Boston, passed away unexpectedly on February 2, 2016 at his residence.

Born in Beverly, MA, he was the son of the late Roland and Laura (Whynott) Hutchings.

An honorably discharged veteran, Don proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps.

A dedicated father, Don was the pillar of strength for his family. Affectionately known as "Osis" to his three boys, Don cherished time spent with his family. He loved gathering around the barbeque and campfire, smoking swisher sweets with his many dear friends. Don was an avid outdoorsman, relishing the beauty of New Hampshire while playing tennis, skiing, swimming, and fishing with a particular affinity for Newfound Lake. When the weather was dreary, Don loved to play long games of Monopoly, Gin Rummy, and Parcheesi. His loyal dogs, Baxter and the late Buster Brown, could often be found by his side. Considered a food connoisseur, Don was a great cook who enjoyed preparing meals for his family and friends. Don loved opening his home to feed people a delicious home cooked meal, especially when he was able to harvest his ingredients from Mother Earth. No celebration could be complete without one of his culinary delights. His sense of humor, practical jokes, and funny stories will live on in his sons and countless friends. With a room full of laughter, Don was truly the life of every celebration. Don will be best remembered for his generous heart and zest for life.

Donald is survived by his two sons, Jonathan Hutchings of Portsmouth & significant other, Kelly Martell, and Spencer Hutchings of Raymond & significant other Michaela Thomas; his daughter, Krystal Hutchings of Haverhill, MA & significant other Valerie DelGrosso; his sister, Debbe Ellerbeck & husband Mike of FL; former spouse and love of his life, Rose Knight; adopted third son, Matt Harris; nieces, and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by his beloved dog, Buster Brown.
