Donald Joseph Martin

Donald J. Martin, 74, of 32 Cross Lane, Gilford died on April 26, 2001 at Pine Rock Manor in Warner after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Mr. Martin was born on July 17, 1926 in Chelsea, MA the son of the late Thomas and Bernice (Glynn) Martin. He lived in Holbrook, MA for 38 years where he was a Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus and a member of the school commission. Mr. Martin was a U S Navy veteran who served during World War II. He was an education loan specialist for the Dept. Of Education in Boston for over 20 years. After retirement he moved to Gilford, NH. Family members include; his wife of 53 years, Patricia (Kelly); one son, Col. Gregg Martin of Carlisle, PA; four daughters, Donna Martin-Barber and Denise Martin, both of Milton, MA, Patricia K. Charles of Williamsburg, Virginia and Jill Martin-Gourley of Newburyport, MA; 13 grandchildren; three brothers, James Martin of Mashpee, MA, Robert Martin of Lexington, MA and Thomas Martin of Binghamton, NY; two sisters, Marlene Dooling of Medford, MA and Joan Taylor of Weymouth, MA; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, April 30, 2001 at 11:00 AM at Pine Rock Manor, 3 Denny Hill, Road, Warner.
