Donald F. Stetson

Donald F. Stetson, 76, of Rochester died on July 3, 2002 at Riverside Rest Home after a lengthy bout with cancer. Mr. Stetson was born on July 4, 1925 in Rumford, Maine the son of the late Ralph and Iva ( Foster) Stetson. He graduated for Rumford High School in 1942 and then joined the U S Air Force Cadets. Upon return from his duty he became a flight engineer for Eastern Airline until 1964 and then worked for TeleStar-Philco Ford in Barstow, CA and Guam. He returned to Maine and worked as an inspector for Watts Fluid Air in Kittery where he eventually retired. His interets included square dancing, ballroom dancing as well as bowling. Mr. Stetson loved animals particularly cats and dogs. Family members include; his wife of 20 years, Eileen (Mason Radcliffe) Stetson; one daughter, Barbara Reczkowski of Candia, NH; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a step son, Mike Radcliffe of Merrimack, NH; two sisters, Winifred Littlefield of Auburn, Maine and Ethelyn Thurston of West Peru, Maine; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter, Beverly Ryan of Arlington, VT in who died in 1989 and by a brother, Ralph Stetson Jr. A Remembrance Service will be held on Saturday, July 13th beginning at 10:30 AM at 127 Deerfield Road in Candia and friends and family are also welcome to gather there throughout the day.
