Donald Edwin Vandenburgh Jr.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald E. Vandenburgh, Jr. (Don) 74, of Nashua, NH, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 1, 2024, after battling an 8-year journey with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. A huge ‘Thank You’ to the amazing staff at Bedford Hills Center. They made all the difference through Don’s toughest times. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Eileen McNally Vandenburgh, who dedicated many years to caring for Don in their home in Nashua. He is also survived by his children Eve Furtado (Tony) of Naples FL and Clifton Vandenburgh (Kristy) of Plymouth MA, his step- children David Hein of Nashua NH and Jeffrey Hein of Scottsdale AZ. His siblings, Jayne Vandenburgh (Andy) of Columbus OH, JoAnn Vautour (Ray) of State College PA, Douglas Vandenburgh (Kadie) of Statham NH, Richard Vandenburgh (Ann) of Southhold NY, Joseph Vandenburgh (Karen) of Navarre FL, as well as his four grandchildren, step-siblings, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, who will miss him dearly.

Born in Hartford CT on May 2, 1950 Don was the first child of six children. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald E. Vandenburgh Sr. and Ann Strattner Vandenburgh. Don graduated from Dover-Sherborn High School in MA, Bryant Stratton Business College in Boston and earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawaii. 

Don spent his working years in various sales positions in the food service industry and was respected for his hard work, dedication, and expertise. Don was an amateur artist and a very creative person. He had a nurturing disposition and loved all animals. Many pets found their forever home with Don. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping and many other outdoor activities. His true passion was working on cars where he used his mechanical and driving skills as a member of SCCA and the BMW auto cross clubs. He was the proud owner of Vandomotor Sports. Don will always be remembered for his infectious laughter, kind and generous heart, and his willingness to help others.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
