Doris Carpenter, 76 Longtime valley resident White River Jct, VT.---Doris Lavoie Carpenter, 76, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005. at Darthmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center as a result of heart complications. She was born February 13, 1929 in East Haverhill, NH, daughter of Joseph and Myrtle Lavoie, being predeceased by them, her brother Joseph Lavoie and sister Mae Dargie. She married Paul B. Carpenter in the '70's where they made their home in the Upper Valley , and for seven years in Zephyrhills, FL. In 1994 they returned to the Upper Valley to live near their families. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #22 in Lebanon, NH and the VFW in White River, VT. Employed for many years as a seamstress at Gilberte's in Hamover, NH and then devoted her life to her home and family. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Paul of White River Jct; two daughters, Helen Pashalidis of Washington, VT; Carole Quimby of Canaan, NH and her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Joyce Ford of Lebanon, NH; three grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at the Ladd Street Cemetery in Haverhill, NH later this year. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Doris Carpenter's memory to the American Heart Association.
